Using Ezine Directories

There are several way to profit from Ezine Advertising. First, you could obviously publish your own ezine. And if you have access to valuable information, or a knowledge that other people need, then you may be able to start a membership ezine and charge for the information people need, creating a residue monthly income.

Or more commonly start a free ezine, using it to promote you affiliate products or other interest while building a list or loyal subscribers. This is the most important as this will become your money list you email your offers to.

Doing Joint Ventures with ezine publishers for them to to sell your product is another way of how to profit from ezines, and there are some other ways I discuss later..

But one thing I want to cover here is the simplest way I've found of ezine marketing. And that is using other ezine owners list using ezine directories. A ezine directory list the contact information, types of ads, etc for a list of ezines. There are free directories you can use, but their income is derived from ads on their site, not from people paying for the quality of their content! Something to give serious consideration to when you are going to use the information as a guide for where you are going to spend your money.

Types of Ads

Solo Ads
This 'ad' is actually an email sent to the list of subscribers of the ezine.
When you buy a solo ad, your ad is the only thing the reader sees,
hence the name, "solo". You are paying the newsletter or ezine owner for the right to email your offer to their list. You give them the solo ad and they do the mailing. Just another reason you want to know you are dealing with a reputable business. Subscribe to the ezine temporary or look online for past issues at their site.

Sponsor Ads
A sponsor ad is shorter than a solo but longer than a classified. Usually five to fifteen lines in length, there are three types of sponsor ads. Top sponsor, middle and bottom. Every time you buy a sponsor ad, know where the ad will be placed before you buy. And look at the ezine to see if their sponsor ads are in your face noticeable.

Classified Ads A typical classified ad is usually between 3 to 5 lines long and 60-65 characters per line. These types of ads are generally grouped with other ads much like a classified in your local newspaper.

With any type of ad calculate the cost of the ad by cost per thousand of subscribers. Not just the cost of the ad! Divide the Ad Cost by the Number of Thousands.

If a ezine has for instance ...
35,000 subscribers and solo ad cost $75.00
( $75.00 divided by 35 = $2.14 per thousand )

Or:

85,000 subscribers and solo ad cost $125.00
($125.00 divided by 85 = $1.47 per thousand )

You can see in the second example it is a little more money, but less than twice the price, over twice the subscribers, and almost half the cost per thousand. Much better deal!

If you want to pursue how to profit from ezine marketing, using ezine directories. I definitely recommend you download a Free ebook called Ezine Traffic Formula written by Charlie Page. It's 44 pages of the gospel on ezines. I used it get started in making money with solo ads. And regardless of whether you become a member of the Directory of Ezines or not, you will know a lot more about Ezine Marketing using Ezine Directories than a lot of people actually doing it.
